Service Activation

Method 1: Insert the SIM into a smartphone and turn on the mobile data service in Hong Kong.


Method 2: Dial USSD code *#130# in Hong Kong for free.
Upon successful activation, an activation SMS with the HK number, stored value and expiry date of the SIM will be sent directly to your mobile.
If you are unable to activate mobile service after using the above methods, please restart your smartphone and make sure the mobile data APN is “cmhk”,while the proxy address and port number are blank.

 

Check your Prepaid card Mobile Number, Remaining Balance, Expiry Date and other remaining balance of SIM Card (Free of charge):

Mobile Data Services

"Mobile Data Service" allows customers to send and receive data files through their handsets. A variety of data-related services can be enjoyed through the use of Mobile Data Service.

Remarks:

  • When the accumulated data usage of selected package reaches the upper limit, data service will be suspended; If you still need to use data service, please press *103*02# to terminate the service and then re-subscribe the data package that you need.
  • If you press *103*02# to terminate the data service, the data package will be terminated instantly and the remaining unused data usage will be forfeited at the same time.
  • The Monthly Fee will be automatically deducted every 30 days. The service will be terminated without prior notice if the stored value balance is insufficient. Customer must ensure the card has sufficient stored value and then re-subscribe the service in order to use the service again.
  • Mobile Data Package is only applicable to using data service in Hong Kong. Data roaming charge will be applied if you use data roaming service while abroad.
  • Actual data transmission speed may vary due to various factors, including but not limited to, data roaming operators, network traffic conditions, handset models, handset settings (both hardware & software), uploaded/downloaded content, selected prepaid cards, and other external factors.
  • The above 1-Day/7-Day/30-Day mobile data packages are only available to designated prepaid SIM cards.

  1. When local data usage consumed between 00:00 to 23:59 (Hong Kong Time) reached to 1 GB daily, you still can enjoy data service in Hong Kong. Data access speed is maintained at not less than 128kbps. Tethering, P2P applications (incl. BitTorrent) will not be supported thereafter.
  2. The validity period of the package is same as the validity period of your Prepaid SIM card. During package validity period, local data acculmulated up to data usage of subscribed package, thereafter local data charge will be calculated on a pay-as-you-go basis.
  3. When local data usage reached up to 3GB during package validity period(starting from subscription till the 5th day 23:59), thereafter data service will be charged on a pay-as-you-go basis.
  4. Max. local data access speed reaches up to 14.4Mbps.
  5. When local data usage reached up to 1GB during package validity period(starting from subscription till the 10th day 23:59), thereafter data access speed will be maintained at not less than 128kbps. Tethering, P2P application (incl. BT) will not be supported thereafter.
  6. The fee will be automatically deducted every 10 days. The service will be terminated without prior notice if the stored value balance is insufficient. Customer must ensure the card has sufficient stored value and then re-subscribe the service in order to use the service again.
  7. "Lite Unlimited Data Package" can co-exist with any data package except "$68/10-day local data package"; data usage will be deducted in "Lite Unlimited Data Package" until the package expired. If "Lite Unlimited Data Package" has been cancelled or terminated for any resaon or circumstances, data usage will then be deducted in "4G/3G 5-day 3GB data package", and "4G/3G 200MB or 1GB data package" thereafter.
  8. During package validity period(starting from subscription till the 10th day 23:59), max. data access speed is maintained at 384kbps. Tethering and P2P application (incl. BT) will not be supported. It’s only applicable to handset use, but not device with screen over 7".
  9. "30 Days Local Data Package", "Lite Unlimited Data Package" or "$68/10-day local data package" cannot be subscribed repeatedly. Customers cannot subscribe both "30 Days Local Data Package", "Lite Unlimited Data Package" and "$68/10-day local data package" at the same time.
  10. When local data usage reached up to 3GB during package validity period (starting from subscription till the 30th day 23:59), thereafter data access speed will be maintained at not less than 384kbps. Tethering, P2P application (incl. BT) will not be supported thereafter.
  11. The fee will be automatically deducted every 30 days. The service will be terminated without prior notice if the stored value balance is insufficient. Customer must ensure the card has sufficient stored value and then re-subscribe the service in order to use the service again.
  • When customer is located out of 4G coverage in Hong Kong. CMHK will provide service to customer via 3G/2G EDGE network.
  • Actual data transmission speed may vary due to many factors, including but not limited to network usage, handset model, setting (including handset hardware and software),upload / download content and other external factors.
  • Provision of CMHK 4G network service is subject to applicable 4G device used by customer.
  • Local Wi-Fi service is excluded to all of above local data services and packages.
  • Above Local Data Package is only applicable to 4G/3G Prepaid SIM Card.

-“4G/3G Mainland China & Hong Kong Data Package” is valid for 30th days or 90th days. When the cumulated data usage for the selected package reaches the upper limit, data service will be suspended; if further data service is needed, re-subscription is allowed upon cancellation of the package. .
-The remaining HK & China data balance within every cycle would not carry forward to the following cycle.
-“4G/3G Mainland China & Hong Kong Data Package” and “Local Data Package” shall not co-exist. If  “Local Data Package” is valid, customers should cancel the “Local Data package” first and wait until the service expired before applying “4G/3G Mainland China & Hong Kong Data Package”.

  • When customer is located out of 4G coverage in HK or designated country/region, CMHK/designated operators will provide service via 3G/2G network.   • This user guide is only applicable for CMHK 1-Card-2-Number Prepaid SIM Card, CMHK 1-Card-2-Number Prepaid SIM Card (Guangdong), Super Roaming, Super Talk & IDD Talk. 
  • Data Roaming Day Pass is charged according to the data usage consumed between Hong Kong Time 00:00 to 23:59 on a per-day basis (must use designated network). Once customer has successfully subscribed Data Roaming Day Pass, all data usage consumed during the service effective day (Hong Kong Time 00:00 - 23:59; excluding usage consumed before service activation) via applicable Designated Roaming Operators will be charged according to Data Roaming Day Pass.
  • Subscriber can press the above short codes to subscribe Data Roaming Day Pass. Our system will send a SMS to confirm the subscription status.
  • Data Roaming Day Pass applies to all data roaming usage but it does not include any other value-added services or multimedia content download charge. In order to provide a more comprehensive service and to avoid abusive usage, CMHK reserves the right to amend the scope of applicable services. In case of any amendment, the latest announcement by CMHK shall prevail.
  • The list of applicable Designated Roaming Operators of Data Roaming Day Pass changes from time to time, and in case of any amendment, the latest announcement by CMHK shall prevail.
  • Once you have registered for the above plan, whenever you travel to an applicable roaming destination, your handset will be automatically directed to the Designated Roaming Operator (depending on local network compatibility). However, to best protect your interests, we recommend you to check from time to time whether your handset stays connected to the Designated Roaming Operator in order to avoid unnecessary data charges stemming from the use of inapplicable network.
  • If customer has visited and used Data Roaming Day Pass in more than one of the Designated Roaming Operators' network within the same day, Daily Charge will be applied separately to each network visited on that day.
  • In case of dispute, the records of CMHK and overseas roaming operators shall prevail.

  • Roaming service is only applicable for CMHK 1-Card-2-Number, CMHK 1-Card-2-Number (Guangdong), Super Roaming, Super Talk & IDD Talk Prepaid SIM Card.
  • If your handset fails to detect a network automatically, please refer to your handset user menu and select the network operator manually. If you are still unable to make call, please restart the handset and redial the number, or select another network operator if you cannot make calls after several tries.
  • Please ensure your  Prepaid SIM Card has sufficient balance before leaving Hong Kong, or you can purchase extra Refills for use overseas.

  1. Select "Menu", "Message", then select "Write Message" / " Message Editor" / "Send New"
  2. Compose your message, then select "Send" / "Send Message"
  3. Enter mobile number and press "OK". To send international SMS, please enterorplus country code first (sending SMS to China requires entering the China mobile number only).

Remark: Dialling of the prefix "133" or "1357" to restrict or allow calling number display is not applicable for SMS sending.

"Intra-network SMS Package"

You can send 100 local SMS to other CMHK customers, by subscribing the "Intra-network SMS Package".Simply  follow the procedures below to subscribe or cancel the package:

Missed Call Alert

If your mobile phone is busy, out of coverage, switched off or has no answer, "Missed Call Alert" service can capture and store the caller's phone number, calling time and date for you. When your mobile phone becomes available again, the information will be sent to you via SMS.

  • Applicable to callers with Calling Number Display function activated.
  • Missed Call Alert function cannot be used in conjunction with relevant call forward and voice mailbox functions.

Remarks: To activate call forward function (except "All Call Forward"), customer should ensure the Prepaid Card has enough balance to receive 6 minutes or more of incoming calls (for roaming, charges will be calculated base on Roaming Service Tariff), otherwise the call forward command will fail.

Diaon your handset to listen to new user guide, then follow the instruction to record your personal greeting and establish a password.

If customer subscribes to both Call Forwarding and Voice & Fax Mailbox service, all unreceived incoming calls will be diverted to voice mail automatically. Customer can divert incoming calls to any designated number according to his needs.

 

 

Call Waiting & Call Hold Service

The Call Waiting feature enables you to answer an incoming call while you are already making a call. With Call Hold you can make a second call, while you hold your existing call.

Wi-Fi Service

Customers who subscribed to 7-Day or 30-Day Mobile Data & Wi-Fi Package can enjoy Wi-Fi service for free. Connect your notebook computer, handset, PDA or other applicable devices to the internet at breath-taking speed, anytime and anywhere!

 

Starting from 2 Feb 2015, CMHK Wi-Fi service will gradually change SSID/ESSID from “CMCC” to “CMCC-WEB”. If both SSID/ESSID “CMCC” and “CMCC-WEB” are available, please try to connect SSID/ESSID “CMCC-WEB” first.

  1. When you are located at a place with CMHK Wi-Fi Service coverage, you can select "CMCC / CMCC-WEB" as your Wi-Fi network directly on your notebook computer, handset or PDA.
  2. If you are using the service for the first time, you need to set up your password as follows:

  3. You can connect to the internet by:
    • using web browser via the steps below.
  4. Launch your web browser*, and the login page will be displayed.
  5. Select Prepaid Customers, then enter you mobile number and CMHK 6-digit password.
  6. Login and enjoy Wi-Fi Service right away.
”1-Card-Multi-Number" Service

Note: New subscriptions of 1-Day/7-Day/30-Day “1-Card-Multi-Number" Service will be suspended with effective from 30 November 2015. Existing subscriptions of 30-Day “1-Card-Multi-Number" Service will still be automatically reactivated on the next day of the expiry date, until further notice. If subscription is cancelled by subscriber, or for other reasons (e.g. insufficient stored value) cannot be automatically reactivated, 30-Day "1-Card-Multi-Number" Service along with the China Number will be cancelled automatically and new subscriptions will not be available.

A single Stored Value SIM card containing both Hong Kong and mainland number. The two numbers will be switched automatically when you travel in and out of Whole China^. No more call forwarding and no SIM card swapping needed.

Conversion Scheme
To fulfill the needs of customer, customer can now activate maximum 2 kinds of Day Passes simultaneously. Customer only need to subscribe a new pass at the same time the current pass is activated and the validity will be extended automatically.
Remarks:

^Not include Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

  • Since 30-Day-Pass will be auto-renewed every month, customer cannot activate 30-Day-Pass twice simultaneously.
  • If the “1-Card-Multi-Number” day pass service has been cancelled but still valid, customer has to reactivate the cancelled service (no extra charge) before subscribe to another day pass.
  • To ensure you can enjoy "1-Card-Multi-Number" service, please subscribe this service in Hong Kong.
  • The China number is assigned randomly and customer cannot return, choose or request to change to other China numbers. Customer cannot keep or use the allocated China number once the service has been expired or terminated due to whatever reasons.
  • 30-Day-Pass will be reactivated on the next day of the expiry date, please ensure that you have enough stored value to pay for "1-Card-Multi-Number" service, otherwise this service along with your China Number will be cancelled automatically.
  • The dialing method of "1-Card-Multi-Number" service is the same as Direct Dial Roaming.
  • Customers can only refill via China Mobile Hong Kong's refill methods. The stored value will be applicable for both Hong Kong & China numbers.
  • If Customer has activated Call Forwarding Service, incoming calls to both Hong Kong Number and China Number will hence be forwarded to the same designated Hong Kong Number.
  • If Customer has activated Voice & Fax Mailbox Service, all unreachable incoming calls to China Number will be diverted to voice mail automatically.
PIN Code

The default PIN code of the SIM card is "8888". Three consecutive failed attempts to enter the PIN code will permanently lock the SIM card. CMHK shall under no circumstances be liable for any damages or losses caused whatsoever.
