1. What is Cellular Service on Apple Watch?

  • Cellular Service allows your applicable Apple Watch to share the same mobile number with your iPhone and connect to the mobile network. Without using another SIM or transfer SIM card data from other device, you can keep in touch with your friends even if you haven’t bring along your iPhone.

2. Can I subscribe the Cellular Service on Apple Watch?

  • Designated Mobile Service Plan and compatible mobile device &wearable device are required. VoLTE and VoWi-Fi should be activated when using the Cellular Service.

3. How to check if your Mobile Service Plan is eligible for the Cellular Service?

  • Please dial*110*210# with your iPhone to check the eligibility. Mobile Service Plan without voice calls function and non-4G Mobile Service Plan are ineligible for the Cellular Service on Apple Watch.

4. Which devices can support the Cellular Service on Apple Watch?

  • Mobile Device: iPhone 6 or later, with iOS 12.0 or later Wearable Device: Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular) [model A2007/A2008] or Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) [A1889/A1891] with watchOS 5.0 or later. 

5. Is it required to apply extra SIM to use the Cellular Service on Apple Watch?

  • Apple supports eSIM. eSIM will be downloaded and activated automatically on your applicable Apple Watch after successful subscription of the Cellular Service on Apple Watch. You will not need to apply for extra SIM.

6. Is there any charge for using the Cellular Service on Apple Watch?

  • Cellular Service is free of charge for CMHK customer with designated Mobile Service Plan.

 

Use of Service

1. Can I pair up with another applicable Apple Watch anytime?

  • Yes. Once you pair up your iPhone with another applicable Apple Watch, the Cellular Service on the previous paired applicable Apple Watch will be suspended automatically.

2. Is there any extra charge for data usage or airtime on applicable Apple Watch?

  • Data usage and airtime generated when using the Cellular Service on the applicable Apple Watch will be deducted from Mobile Service Plan or charged at the applicable thereafter fee.

3. Can I make international calls on applicable Apple Watch?

  • Yes. If you have subscribed IDD service, you will be able to make international calls on your applicable Apple Watch. Please note that there might be extra IDD service charge.

4. Can I make or receive calls, or use roaming data via my Apple Watch while overseas?

  • No. Cellular Service on the Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular) or Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) does not support the Roaming Services.

5. Can I use the Cellular Service on the Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular) or Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) purchased from Mainland China?

  • No. Cellular Service is not applicable to Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular) or Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular)  purchased from Mainland China.

6. If I have two applicable Apple Watches, can I pair them with the same iPhone and use the Cellular Service?

  • No. Cellular Service on the applicable Apple Watch is only applicable for one iPhone paired up with one applicable Apple Watch.

7. Do I have to re-subscribe the Cellular Service if I switch to use another supported iPhone?

  • No. If you switch to use another supported iPhone with the same mobile number, you just need to pair up your new iPhone with your applicable Apple Watch in order to use the Cellular Service.

8. Can the 4.5G Full Speed Share Service Plan Supplementary SIMs subscribe to the Cellular Service ?

  • Yes. Each Supplementary SIMs in Share Service Plan can subscribe to one Cellular Service on the applicable Apple Watch.

9. I have subscribed to "1-Card-Multi-Number" Value-added Service. Will applicable Apple Watch be able to receive incoming calls if someone call my Mainland China number?

  • Yes, you can receive both the incoming call to your Local / Mainland China number via applicable Apple Watch.

 

Apple Watch Support

1. I have successfully activated the Cellular Service on the applicable Apple Watch but my applicable Apple Watch is still unable to connect to mobile network, what should I do?

  • Please turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone & Wi-Fi on the applicable Apple Watch, and restart the applicable Apple Watch . If your applicable Apple Watch is still unable to connect to mobile network, please follow the following steps to check if the eSIM is properly installed on your applicable Apple Watch:
    Go to the ”Settings > General > About” on your applicable Apple Watch. If there is a blank in the ‘ICCID’ column, it means that the eSIM has been removed from your applicable Apple Watch.
  • To re-install eSIM, please go to “Watch” app on your iPhone, and go to “My Watch”, select “Mobile data” and tap “Setup mobile data”. Then, select “Install eSIM”. eSIM will be downloaded and installed to your applicable Apple Watch. After that, your applicable Apple Watch should be able to connect to mobile network.
